United Church Women

The U.C.W. is a group of women who are willing to participate in outreach to their church and community.The U.C.W. has an annual bake and yard sale and a Christmas Bazaar.They cater for the Living Alone luncheon in our church once a month.The group also caters for receptions and other events. Some of the funds raised are donated to the church and some are donated to community groups and initiatives.

The U.C.W. meetings provide the opportunity to carry out our purpose within the church. This is a great way to be a part of the church family. Please come out and share your talent, energy and time. Meetings are held once a month from September to June. This group has been passed on by generations of women before us. Let’s keep this tradition of the church going.

UNIT 1 meets the first Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. We conduct the business of the U.C.W. Our meetings include worship, programs/ guest speakers, refreshments and fellowship. Service includes community outreach, some catering for receptions and church functions and some fundraising activities.

UNIT 2 meets the third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in members’ homes. Our meetings include worship and study/discussion of topics of concern. We support the work of Unit 1.

The U.C.W. also provides prayer shawls to anyone in need. Our Prayer Shawls are now given to all who are baptized at Westminster, whether baby, child or adult. If you know someone in need of the warmth and prayers woven into our Prayer Shawls, please contact the church office.
